If for the slight chance it is a neurosis I would believe it stems back from being forced weaned at at young age. I've heard of this happening to african greys that were 'pulled from the nest' too young.<br />She doesn't exactly pull the feathers out. She pulls the incoming feather nubs as they are coming in so they don't develope.
